The star has given the full amount of his £25k honor winnings to the trust for venues, which operates to preserve the Britain's grassroots music venues.

He was given the cheque on mid-October as his new release his work was chosen as the outstanding release of the last 12 months.

He has chosen to donate the funds to the MVT, in appreciation of the vital role small stages had in his beginning days.

"I personally would not have achieved what I am doing today if it weren't for all the shows I did around the region, and further afield, when I was beginning," remarked Fender. "These venues are renowned, but they are facing challenges."

From early 2023 onward, at least 150 of these spaces have ceased operations – roughly one-sixth of the entire UK sector.

In the last year, major artists like Pulp, the group Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the MVT in its efforts to support the industry, by adding a small levy to their admission fees, which benefits smaller concert halls.

Fender also participated, generating more than £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to help numerous grassroots venues across the UK.

These funds supported venues that were facing possible closure due to issues caused by flooding, fire incidents and family tragedies, as well as regulatory hurdles, legal disputes and sound issues.

Some locations obtained monetary aid in modernizing infrastructure and technical equipment that positively impacted performers and audiences.

"The notion that funds from concerts in large arenas helps the local stages, where it all starts for artists like me, is just sensible," Sam Fender has stated.

They are among the artists who contributed their honor funds to charity

Fender is among several artists to donate his honor funds to good deeds.

In they won the prize in the year 1996 for their release the album, lead singer Jarvis Cocker announced that the group would contribute their winnings to the organization War Child.

In 2002, artist Ms Dynamite shared her award between multiple organizations, such as the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell organization.

"And I contributed a grand to my local community centre, to their gymnastics class, because I trained in gymnastics when I was a child and they lacked updated gear," Ms Dynamite told the media.

In recent years, they contributed their winnings to the community center that nurtured their band, in addition to other independent music bodies.

Also winners that year M People gave their winnings to a multiple sclerosis charity after a friend was found to have the illness.

"Receiving the award was ample," remarked singer the singer. "The cash was the bonus but we didn't require the cherry, because we had the honor. So our victory impacted somebody else's life."

Recently, the Music Venues Trust shared it had saved a couple of grassroots venues in that region, by bringing them into public stewardship.

The first in Southampton and The Croft in Bristol were purchased under the Own Our Venues initiative, which is funded by the arts council and music fans who acquire "stakes" in the venues.
